Russell Watson’s recent UK concert tour was miked entirely with Audio-Technica, including the 27 piece orchestra, four backing singers, and an A-T Artist Elite® 5000 Series Wireless system for the mega star tenor’s voice.
Arranpaul Audio Ltd chose an entirely A-T inventory for the tour, based on
the exhaustive range of dedicated models, and the ability of the Artist Elite®
5000 Series to provide a wireless system with the necessary power handling capability
for an opera voice.
Arran Culpan, director of Arranpaul Audio Ltd, was system technician for the
10 date sell-out tour of the country’s most prestigious concert venues,
throughout March and April, including the Royal Albert Hall London: “I
selected Audio-Technica mics for the sound quality and the range of models for
specific instruments and applications. I chose the 5000 Series Artist Elite
wireless system with the AE3300 cardioid, large condenser diaphragm, specifically
for Russell’s big opera voice. Other wireless systems would simply not
cope with the sheer level. Something I know from experience and have been delighted
with the results.”
Other microphones deployed included the AE2500, AE5100, AE3300, AE3000, AT4050,
AT4051, AE4100, ATM35 and ES943
