This latest testimonial looks set to be the one of the week. Seems AudioCourses.com and its sound engineering tips and tricks continue to reach out and help people where it's needed. Here Jo thanks us for our free advice on compression.
Dear mr. christopher hambly,
my name is joseph, 23 years of age, from pune, INDIA !
Was browsing on the net and stumbled upon audio courses on-line, this is close to about a month or two months back, and downloaded a few pages from the tips and tricks section and one of them happened to be the one on compression. All I can say is - that is exactly what I used to feel about compression, what am I listening for ?
I'm not big a fan of compression, I use minimum compression in my recording, use a fair bit while mixing though, but I had to say that your paper was really cool and has given me a different perspective and a different way of looking at the whole idea of compression. I've finally just read the paper today and I just had to write in to you, just wished that I had looked upon this paper earlier. I've bin working in a studio for close to 2 years now and have enjoyed every passing moment, its like one of the best jobs ever. I am looking forward to shift to the mecca of the music industry here in india, to bombay and I'm sure all the tips and all the information I recieve frm your site is going to be absolutely invaluable. I would like to thank you in advance for everything.
I love music surely at that, used to play the piano but quit to learn the bass. love listening to music, almost everything except too much of heavy metal and the likes and techno and stuff, love the sound of bands like phish, bela fleck, string cheese and pink floyd and a load of fusion bands.
Well so much for now, looking forward to correspond with you hopefully and I'm sure I'll learn a lot while I'm at that.
Thank you so much for your time,
take care and have a great week,
jOe.
