Amsterdam, The Netherlands, May 25, 2005. FabFilter announces the upcoming release of FabFilter Volcano, a versatile filter effect plug-in for Windows and Mac OS X.
FabFilter Volcano stands out with many modulation options and above all FabFilter's unique digital filter technology that results in extremely smooth and analog-sounding filters.
FabFilter Volcano has two independent filters with five different unique filter
characteristics, ranging from smooth with moderate overdrive to
extremely raw and self-oscillating. Of course, the famous filter characteristic
from FabFilter One is also included.
The filters in FabFilter Volcano feature low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass
response types and 12/24/48 dB/oct slopes. The panning setting creates cool
stereo effects without phase problems by changing the filter frequency for the
left and right audio channels independently. FabFilter Volcano's
interactive filter display shows the curves for both filters and lets you drag
them around, separately or both at the same time.
Frequency, peak, and panning settings can be modulated in any way imaginable
with the two LFOs and the triggered envelope generator. The LFOs have
adjustable triangle and square wave forms and can be synchronized to the host
tempo.
The new MIDI learn feature lets you control FabFilter Volcano with any MIDI
keyboard or controller within minutes, simply by turning knobs in FabFilter
Volcano's user interface and on the controller.
FabFilter Volcano is available on May
25, 2005 for $139 (US) as an Audio Units plug-in and a VST plug-in for Mac OS
X and as a VST plug-in for
Windows on www.fabfilter.com. FabFilter
One owners can purchase FabFilter Volcano for just $99 (US). System requirements

(Panther) or higher with an Audio Units or VST 2 host, or Windows XP, 2000,
98, Me, or 2003, with a VST 2 host.
