New Tricks from a Pro Player
Register Today for the Upcoming Sennheiser Studio Seminar
As the saying goes, "one can't learn new mic techniques, new studio recording concepts and practices, or new tips and tricks for broadcasting live in 5.1 surround by sitting in one's studio, staring at one's hands." OK, that's not a saying, but it should be because audio professionals have a splendid opportunity to add all of these skills to their repertoires in a one-day, hands-on, interactive seminar organized by Sennheiser and Recording Magazine and led by industry veteran Mike Pappas.
The Sennheiser Studio Seminar will take place on 5 December 2006 at the XM Satellite Radio Performance Studio in Washington DC from 11am - 5pm. Pappas is an authority on 5.1 surround and the requisite engineering practices and microphone techniques that it requires. He has done live sound for more than 1500 sporting events, logged over 500 hours of live concert 5.1 surround HD Radio broadcasts, been the featured lecturer on 5.1 surround recording and broadcast techniques for the Audio Engineering Society, earned multiple Emmy nominations for his work in the field, and on and on. This is like a seminar on playwriting led by Shakespeare.
Participants will work directly with Pappas in the studio with venerated jazz vocalist Kendra Shank and her band. The $49 registration fee includes lunch, the seminar, and complimentary giveaways.
