Westlake Village, CA (March 12, 2008) –. TC|US, the North American distributor for Lab.gruppen products, recently hosted two successful rep training sessions on Lab.gruppen’s new PLM Series of Powered Loudspeaker Management systems.
The first two-day session was held February 27-28 in Las Vegas, NV, while the second followed on March 3 and 4 in Nashville, TN. The events brought together more than 30 independent Lab.gruppen sales representatives from all over the country. Ken Blecher – director of sales for Lab.gruppen in North America – headed up the training sessions and was assisted by Garrick Lewis, product support manager. In addition to TC|US staff, Michael Reeves and Jim Hilson with Dolby Lake were present and added portions of their certified training program including general Dolby Lake interfacing and operation.
The training sessions were split into two sections. The first covered the core features of the Dolby Lake Controller PLM Edition software such as, programming crossovers and EQ - including the fundamental Raised Cosine and Mesa filter technology - along with dynamics utilizing Limiter Max and delays, and the wireless system control. Lab.gruppen-specific features – LoadLibrary “fingerprint” (loudspeaker identity and characteristic) data, LoadSmart load verification and SpeakerSafe continuous loudspeaker performance monitoring - were covered in the second part of the training. This section also delved into detail on the software’s status and event logs that provide real-time visual indication of voltage, current, power, and limiting levels and retain the data in performance history files and the load assignment and Inter-Sample Voltage Peak Limiting (ISVPL) features.
Participants were also shown how the majority of the PLM’s control and monitoring functions can be accessed directly from the front panel. Other key topics included output routing and real world applications.
Jon Bormann, principal of Bormann Marketing based in the Midwest says, “It was invaluable to have hands-on training with the PLM Series. Our customers already know about the performance, reliability and long-term durability of Lab.gruppen products in general. They’re going to be really impressed by the PLM Series. It offers features, monitoring and control beyond any other combination being offered today which is why Lab.gruppen’s 1 + 1 = 3 campaign really fits.”
Blecher, a firm believer that “every day should be enjoyed to its capacity,” capped off one of the training days with a spirited go-cart session in Las Vegas.
The Lab.gruppen PLM Series utilizes proven Dolby Lake Processor technology and expands upon it with a suite of load verification and performance monitoring features. Its power amplification builds on the foundation of the road-tested FP+ and legendary fP Series providing the same sonic signature - powerful, tight bass and transparent high frequency response. The PLM Series establishes new benchmarks for high power and channel density, while at the same time providing digital signal processing, system management, and protection features found in no other product.
