Fiew & Water

Fiew & Water

The Waterfront in Falmouth is usually pretty full of real people to hear good bands, but I have never seen the combination of punters, musos and local record company execs boogieing with such abandon.

The occasion was a cracking second set by Fire & Water.

The whole band are good, although young enough for plenty of development, but they feature a voice, more than reminisecent of Janis Joplin, but encased in a petite and personable form.

I told them that they are going to be big when I first saw them over a year ago at the Pirate (oh, how I miss it!) and I hope they'll send some stuff, especially downloads, so that others can enjoy them. They don't have a website but there is a CD which I'm trying desperately to get hold of.

They come from Kent but do several Cornish gigs every few months so it won't be too long before we hear them again.
