DTS chooses PMC to demonstrate superior surround sound encoding
DTS Europe has selected PMC high resolution monitoring systems to demonstrate the superior sound quality inherent in its Coherent Acoustics
surround sound codec, commercially marketed as DTS Digital Surround ®.
The scalable DTS algorithm provides the highest possible quality
surround sound for DVD-V, DVB, e-cinema and IP based applications, and includes
provision for 96kHz high sample rate (DTS 96/24) and 6.1 discrete, seven channel
surround sound (DTS-ES Discrete) encoding and playback.
DTS Europe is using PMC IB1 and PMC AML1 monitor systems, in
6.1 configurations, to best demonstrate the quality of DTS encoded music and
film soundtracks on DVD and for digital broadcasting sound, at consumer electronics
and pro audio exhibitions. Recently the company employed PMC systems in demonstrating
the performance of its new DTS professional software encoders for Mac and
PC at the Audio Engineering Exhibition in Berlin, and in presenting a DTS
surround sound seminar to leading AV industry companies at Cedia in the UK.
