VS-Planet Issues Artist Webpage Sites To Premium Members
Las Vegas, NV, August 26, 2004 – VS-Planet (www.vsplanet.com), an international on-line community dedicated to helping its members master Roland’s VS line of digital audio workstations, is proud to announce Artist WebPages to it’s Premium Artist Services. The Artist WebPages have passed beta testing and are now in full operation.
The Artist Webpage sites showcase the Independent artists who have subscribed to the VS-Planet Premium Service and are an exclusive benefit attached to the Premium Membership Artist Subscription Package offered by VS-Planet. The webpage enables up to eight (8) MP3 songs (40MB Max Storage) stored on-line in VSPlanet's music depository. Other premium features include a pop3 email account; UCC labels for packaging and promotion; discounts on artist products and services; and eligibility for airplay on VS-Planet Radio (VSPR). Annual artist subscription dues are $39.95 USD. The Premium Subscription also includes bundled VSS software: Lyricist, a powerful songwriter’s word processor and Tracknotes, a convenient recording session tracking tool. If purchased separately from the Premium Artist Package on the VSS website, the bundled software’s street value alone is valued at $69.95.
Andy McClelland, a multi-stringed instrumentalist singer/songwriter, a.k.a. “Silversmith” in the Planet community states: “The artist sites have been a great thing for VS-Planet. In my view they have focused the community on the music. It's nice to be able to put music to the face (as it were) with one or two easy clicks. I think they have brought some real talented people into the community that might otherwise not have become involved. What has become evident since the advent of the Artist sites is the variety of music that is around here - and the quality. Personally, I have found much inspiration from them just knowing that there are guys like me out there from all over the world that just love making music regardless of genre.”
With ease of use, regular server maintenance, no-spam policy, and competitive pricing, the Artist Pages have the potential to draw indie attention from outside the community as well. Says McClelland: “Bear in mind that before the Artist sites on VS-Planet, I was not what you would call a frequent surfer of MP3 sites, but now I visit every site - listened to just about everything on each Artist page, and whenever anybody posts that they have new tunes on the Artists sites I check them out. I would not have done that before from the ‘bigger’ artist sites like MP3.com. Why, you ask? They were a royal pain - inconsistent service, pop-ups, spam etc.” Not so with the VSP Artist Pages, he says: “They are clean and simple to use. No scrolling through pages to find the tune you want and I have never had a problem with connections or freeze-ups.”
