BPI Chairman Peter Jamieson will join BARD Chairman Simon Wright and Lesley Douglas, BBC Radio 2's Head of Programmes, as a keynote speaker at this year's Music Radio 2003 on April 9.

> The BPI's APU had a successful result last week at Sheffield Crown Court – a music pirate trading in Barnsley received a suspended two year jail sentence and was ordered to pay fines and costs of £6,250 having pleaded guilty to five charges under the 1994 Trademarks Act.

> Delegates at SXSW next week will be able to pick up the BPI CD sampler featuring some of the big UK acts playing at the festival and all the UKsxsw2003 bands.

>  And finally, the record industry celebrates a milestone – the CD was launched in the UK 20 years ago this week.
