System 5-P Digital Audio Post-Production Mixing System - Interfacing with Steinberg's Nuendo at NAB 03

Following the announcement in September 2002 of a Euphonix Steinberg alliance, the Company is showing proof of concept demonstrations of its hardware control surfaces with Steinberg’s Nuendo DAW software.

Euphonix VP Technology, Martin Kloiber, “As part of our System 5 digital audio architecture we developed a unique approach to controlling our own DSP hardware with our IP based console surfaces. This technology is a high-speed communications protocol, we call ‘EuCon’. The broad open protocol is equally applicable to communications between our surfaces and DAWs. EuCon greatly simplifies the software development needed to connect two software systems such as a DAW and a control surface.”

On the Euphonix booth the System 5-P audio post system shows a hybrid approach where the control surface connects to Nuendo and Euphonix’ own DSP. Steinberg, the Audio Group of Pinnacle Systems, can be seen demonstrating the latest version of Nuendo on the Pinnacle booth #SU5003.

The Euphonix Booth # N3014 is situated in the Audio and Radio Hall at NAB. The Max Air Broadcast Tour vehicle is located on the Gerling and Associates Booth # MM203 in the mobile vehicles area.
