DTS APPOINTS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CINEMA




Twyford, UK – November 22, 2004 – DTS (Digital Theater Systems, Inc.) (Nasdaq: DTSI) today announced the appointment of Don Bird as Senior Vice President, Cinema.

Previously Vice President, Marketing at DTS, he will oversee all business activities for the company’s Cinema Division. With more than 20 years of experience in the development and marketing of sophisticated technical products for the entertainment industry, Don brings extensive knowledge of the digital cinema space to his new position.

Prior to joining DTS in 2003, Don guided entrepreneurial firms to market-leadership positions, and held key roles in driving industry-wide technology conversions in electronic music, broadcast audio, video and film post production. He spent fifteen years in senior management positions where he was responsible for sales, marketing, and management of international distribution networks. Before DTS, Don was Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Avica Technology Corp., a digital cinema technology company. Before that, he served as Vice President of Corporate Strategy for 360 Systems, a company specializing in broadcast digital audio products.
