The new Tone-Tools 62 Blues/Harp guitar speaker cabinet, based on the 1481 Silvertone small vintage tube amp and designed for Harp and Blues players, this little cabinet thrilled me with it's vintage blues tone.
The beauty of the Tone-Tools 62 Blues/Harp speaker cabinet is it's ability
to reproduce the vintage blues tone of the small tube amps of the past by using
your existing amp, saving you money and one less amp to re-tube and maintain.
If you're looking for vintage blues tone, you just found it!
I have always been a fan of small vintage tube amps with their raw tube tone,
the 62 cabinet was designed to enhanced the tonal characteristics of those small
amps while preserving that true vintage blues tone.
I've incorporated our scaled down Tone Expansion System (pat. pending), into
our 62 cabinet to fit this design, while this enhances it's performance, especially
in the bass area, I was very careful not to disturb the natural interaction
between the 8" speaker tone and the cabinet's woody timbre.
A hand-built, front ported, closed-back, detuned design, the 62 is a small
wonder at only 10 lbs with speaker, and measuring 17" W x 14" T x
6 1/2" D.
It's constructed entirely of 1/2 Pine plywood. I found this to offer the best
of both worlds, strong dimensional stability and medium density, resulting in
a small cabinet with great vintage blues tone. An internal structure adds to
the overall strength and allows for tuning of the cabinet.
