This is a call to arms for all bedroom producers to step up and be counted.
Do you think you have the production skills, behind-the-board knowledge and
inventiveness on the ones and twos to match Roots Manuva? Or you reckon you
can steel the limelight from one of the UK's most original beatsmith? Well now's
your chance to prove yourself.
The remix competition of the year is here to shake the cobwebs off your sampler,
scratch the wax out your ears and sound the drums of war. Cut out the modesty
and lay your braggin' rights on the table. We, here at rootsmanuva.co.uk are
giving you the chance to supply the beat for the acapella of 'Witness (1 Hope)',
No.1 UK Hip Hop tune of all time.
This is the first time ever that the acapella for 'Witness (1 Hope)' has been
made available, unleashing classic phrases such as "taskmaster burst the
bionic zit splitter, breakneck speeds, we drown 10 pints of bitter!". If
ol' Shakespeare were around now he'd pinch himself. The competition itself begins
on the 29th November and ends 17th January, with the winner being announced
on the 14th January. The very lucky winner will have their remix streamed on
the http://www.rootsmanuva.co.uk
website and will also be given a selection of Roots Manuva goodies, as well
as being given the opportunity to produce an 'on spec' remix for a forthcoming
Roots Manuva single...
