AUDIO-TECHNICA DOMINATES LIVE PERFORMANCE EVENTS IN POLAND

A recent special concert for the Pope, the 40th anniversary of the Student Song Festival and Poland's International Percussion Festival all relied on Audio-Technica microphones to deliver high quality sound reproduction, supplied by Polish distributor, Konsbud-Audio.

At the special concert for the Pope, held at the Castle Square in Warsaw, and broadcast live by TVP 1 Polish Public Television and TV POLONIA international, four channels of Audio-Technica 5000 Artist Elite™ Series wireless microphone systems were used on stage. These operated seamlessly, without interference, in parallel with other wireless systems, thanks to the unique IntelliScanÆ tuning system automatically searching out interference-free frequencies.

At the 40th jubilee of the Student Song Festival on the 13-17th October, Audio-Technica 5000 Artist Elite™ Series wireless microphone systems again performed faultlessly throughout the event. Both Polish public television channels recorded three festival concerts. Young students who took part in the competition performed various kinds of music from poetical ballads to rock, pop and rap. From the beginning of the festival in 1962 the event has been a specific oasis of freedom where young artists could meet. It was at this festival that famous Polish artists Jacek Kaczmarski and Prezemys_aw Gintrowski started their careers.

For the first time in the history of the Polish International Percussion Festival, held from the 13th to the 29th of October in Opole, Audio-Technica microphones from Artist Elite™, Artist™ and Pro™ series were used throughout the series of concerts. Famous international artists invited to the festival included Simon Philips, Jimmy de Grasso - one of the most popular players, noted for his albums with Megadeth – and virtuosos of Vibroafon and Marimba, David Friedman and David Samuals.

The festival was opened by Simon Philips, a British instrumentalist, famous in Poland, particularly for his work with the legendary group, Toto. The festival program included classic and jazz workshops for young drummers and other musicians alongside the recitals and concerts of percussion. The Festival ended with the final concert by Percussion Clavier de Lyon from France.
