With 2005 already in full flow and the NAMM show just “fresh” behind us, we already focus on the next show:
This week, Alcons will be present at
the Integrated Systems Europe convention in Amsterdam (the “European NSCA
show”).
On show will be a selection of both the Alcons’ general and cinema product
portfolio, with latest additions (please visit our “event” section
on our website for more show dates).
The LR14 line-array module is now shipping. It’s loaded with the patented
Alcons RBN401 ribbon driver, the most powerful ribbon driver in its category,
and double 6.5” woofers. With 94% active frontal radiation, this system
raises the bar significantly in ultra-compact line-array technology.
The long-awaited information on the Q-series is now on-line! The series has
been “previewed” over the last months and the multiple patented
RBN1801 (18” ribbon HF transducer) has created quite a stir in the market.
The development of the Q-series marks the introduction of complete new audio
solutions, based on the modular column array concept.
The ultra-shallow C-series sound systems are making strong inroads in the cinema
market. The CR1 (3-way front system, only 7”/18cm deep!) preliminary information
was already put on-line; Now the information on the CB181sl ultra-slim subwoofer
(single 18”, only 11”/27.5cm deep) has been added.

Many Alcons installations have been realized around the globe: South-Korea,
Lebanon (Buddha Bar!), Dubai, Malaysia, Germany, Netherlands (first LR14 install
!), Sweden, to name just a few. More in-depth info on these projects will be
on-line soon.
Also on the rental side, Alcons maintains its rapid growth pace: New “The
Ribbon Network” members TTM Sound and Almaro from the Netherlands, Fat
Boy records from Malaysia and White Sound from Korea have been welcomed very
recently, with a number of high-profile rental companies to be announced soon.
