Next-Generation Processor/Synchronizer Extends Capabilities of Successful DPS-575

Leitch Technology Corporation (TSX:LTV - News), a leading provider of SD/HD solutions for professional digital video, announces the launch of the X75(TM)SD, its next-generation, standalone standard- definition processor/synchronizer. The X75SD extends the market leadership of the popular DPS-575 Digital Processing Synchronizer with the addition of significant new features and an easy upgrade path to HDTV when required. The X75SD will be showcased at NAB 2005, alongside the recently launched X75HD, Leitch's HDTV up/down/cross converter synchronizer.

Significant new features on the X75SD include dual SDI synchronization for customers already transitioned to digital. For customers requiring input analog conversion, the X75SD provides the option of two leading composite input decoders: the high-quality, 3-line adaptive PQM decoder found in both the current DPS-575 and 6800+ modular platform; or the industry-leading 3D adaptive decoder, which is offered as part of the NEO(TM) series of advanced applications.

Unique amongst all standalone synchronizers on the market, the X75SD can be field-upgraded to provide HDTV up, down and cross conversion, complete with HD synchronization. A user's investment in the X75SD is future-proofed with a guaranteed upgrade path to the X75HD system configuration.

For remote monitoring applications, the X75SD comes standard with thumbnail capability of the video passing through the unit. As an option, the X75SD accommodates an MPEG-4 monitoring streaming module that generates an IP- based compressed stream that can be viewed with industry-standard players.

The X75SD also provides audio capability to meet the increased audio processing requirements of today's broadcasters. There are two audio options: an eight-channel audio processor with four analog audio inputs and outputs and two AES (balanced and unbalanced) with two groups of embedded audio support; or a 16-channel audio processor with the same analog audio interfaces, five AES (balanced and unbalanced) and four groups of embedded audio support. Both options handle audio on a channel-by-channel basis with full audio processing, synchronization and delay. As an additional option, a Dolby® Digital / Dolby® E decoder can be incorporated to regenerate and output baseband audio.

The X75SD, X75HD and the DPS-575 are designed to operate on the same control infrastructure. Pre-existing DPS-575 control panels can control the X75SD and continue to operate the DPS-575. New X75 control panels can also be used to control DPS-575s. A built-in Web server and optional SNMP support are industry-standard means of controlling and monitoring the X75SD. CCS Navigator(TM) further enhances the remote control aspects of the X75SD for any application.
