Alpine Pictures, Inc in association with Box Office Productions, LLC has recently signed Matt Aberle as music supervisor on Love Is the Drug, which begins filming April 25th.
Love Is the Drug was written by Wesley Strick (Arachnophobia, Cape Fear, The
Glass House) and is staring Lizzy Caplan (Mean Girls, Orange County, Geeks and
Freaks). The teen drama focuses on the coming of age of a group of teens in
that transitional summer between high school, and college, where love is explored
and mortality is challenged.
Matt is currently working on Walt Disney Pictures’ Shaggy Dog and Element
Film’s Down In the Valley. Other film and television credits include executive
producer of the soundtrack for Bravo’s hit series Queer Eye for the Straight
Guy and music supervisor on Lion Gate Films’ Wonderland (Val Kilmer, Kate
Bosworth, Lisa Kudrow), as well as soundtrack executive producer through Epic/
Sony Music Soundtrax. “Matt’s cutting edge sound will add an element
to Love Is the Drug that will help drive the story” stated Ryan Carroll,
and added, “ The soundtrack works as a fifth character enhancing the mood
and helping to build emotion, and Matt has demonstrated his finesse in this
area working with Val Kilmer (Heat, The Doors, Batman Returns) on Wonderland.”
Prior to turning his attention towards film, Matt worked with the top music
labels such as Warner / Reprise Records, Capitol Records, Imago Recording Company
and Morgan Creek Music Group. Jed Nolan expressed “We are very excited
to have Matt as part of our team, and are very encouraged by the soundtrack
possibilities that he brings to the project.” While at these label’s
Matt worked with such talent as Orgy, Goo Goo Dolls, The Living End, and Earshot,
as well as the teen favorite, chart topping Green Day. In addition to these
groups he has also worked with The Cocteau Twins, Megadeath, Smoking Popes,
Korn, and The Beasties Boys.
