Company's Inaugural Awards Program Recognizes Excellence in the Practical and Innovative Integration of Rich Media Technology

MADISON, Wis., June 2 Sonic Foundry(R) Inc. (Nasdaq: SOFO), a leader in automated rich media solutions, today announced the finalists for its inaugural Rich Media Impact Awards. Sonic Foundry will recognize nine organizations across five categories at a special awards luncheon June 9 in Las Vegas during InfoComm 2005. Winners will be announced at that time.

Sonic Foundry developed the Rich Media Impact Awards program to recognize excellence in the practical and innovative integration of rich media technology in business, education, health and government. As part of the selection process, finalists had to successfully demonstrate how rich media transformed their organization through measurable improvements in accessibility, cost savings, efficiency and productivity.

"The advantages of an automated rich media communication environment are being realized by a variety of organizations for a wide range of applications that were almost unimaginable a few years ago," said James Dias, senior vice president of marketing and business acceleration, Sonic Foundry. "Our awards program recognizes the most innovative applications and room designs that truly maximize Mediasite's ability to easily and routinely deliver high-impact communications."
