Voiceovers, professional editing, sound elements, and cues are the elements of an ideal broadcast. While hundreds of audio production studios currently service the radio and television conglomerates, Pod Shack is the first to offer niche services focused on individual and commercial Podcasters.

Pod Shack is a virtual studio created by radio producer Mike Gould after identifying an under serviced market share of people who wanted quality sounding Podcasts but did not have the available resources.

"A typical broadcast studio—something someone is running as an independent producer—is going to start at around $100 per hour," Gould said. "You have to source that work, be available to work with a producer, and have deep enough pockets to sustain a weekly or daily podcast production. That just isn't a reality for the Podcasting market."

One example of a podcast using elements like those used in typical radio programming is former MTV's VJ Adam Curry's show. His show, Daily Source Code, is one of the most produced Podcasts in the market. Much like a commercial radio show, produced elements, like the ones Pod Shack creates for its clients, are evident throughout his Podcast.

Gould said that new Podcasters often come to him, seek his advice and are amazed at the results in the before and after productions of their content. In addition to the typical production one might expect, Pod Shack also helps clients solve a wide array of production issues from noise reduction to simple vendor recommendations for interviews.

"We often have clients who come to us and say, 'I know something is wrong with the sound, but I just don't know what I am missing,'" said Gould. "We become their producer and walk them through everything from content to production including consulting on the vendors they need to get the sound they want to achieve. Some of them use programs to assist with editing, but Pod Shack provides the elements that personalize their show and make it better."

"It isn't that their voice is wrong or their content isn't captivating, but it's the way a show moves the listener through transitions. We tighten the sound, place elements that enhance your content, and excite the listener. This is the difference between a so-so Podcast and a podcast that breaks out from the pack," he said.

Pod Shack is located in Frisco, Texas, a suburb near Dallas, providing Podcast services for individuals, corporations, organizations and musical groups. Pod Shack's website is www.podshack.com.
