Topic’s Stretch From Avatar’s Reverb Chamber to Outsmarting Compression

NEW YORK: Drawing from advanced research, cutting edge technology and practical applications, the 119th AES Convention, AES Tutorials cover a plethora of high-profile and under-the-radar subjects. Attendees will profit from dialogues with some of the most inquisitive minds and skilled ears in the industry. Themed Where Audio Comes Alive, and focused on Live Sound, the Convention will be held Oct. 7-10 in NY’s Javits Center. Over 400 exhibitors, and an anticipated 20,000 attendees will participate.

Tutorials Committee Chair, Bob Moses, has assembled a striking array of options ranging from the practical: Dynamic Range Compression- A Real World Users Guide, to the cosmic Psychophsysics and Physiology of Hearing. “Unlike the large format AES Workshops, tutorials are held in small, intimate groups which promote close interaction between leader and participants,” AES Convention Chair Jim Anderson, explains. “Inventor of the first Firewire audio device and VP, Director of Engineering for Wavefront Semiconductor, Bob Moses has amassed an auspicious roster of presenters and rich subject matter. We expect the think tank-like atmosphere of these tutorials to generate many valuable ideas,” Anderson adds.
Tutorials include:
