This one day lecture exposes musicians and audio engineers to the psycho-acoustics and the neuroscience of hearing to illustrate the processes underlying music perception.
After an introduction of the structure and function of the peripheral auditory system the lecture will explain in simple and clear terms the neuroscience and psychology of hearing.
Composers, performing musicians and sound engineers will be able to relate the physiology of loudness, pitch, spatial hearing, and scene analysis to their
everyday work.
