McNally Smith to host representatives from top national arts schools

St. Paul, MinN. (October 3, 2005) — Students from Minnesota and surrounding states looking to pursue advanced degrees in the fine arts will have the opportunity to explore their educational options when McNally Smith College of Music hosts the 2005 National Performing and Visual Arts College Fair. The event, which takes place October 18 from 7 to 9 p.m., will provide prospective students an opportunity to meet with many of the top art schools in the country and give them a start in their college selection process.

The National Performing and Visual Arts College Fair is a free event sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). It is a unique opportunity for students who want to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies in music, dance, theater, visual arts, graphic design and other related disciplines to meet with representatives from a broad spectrum of colleges, universities, conservatories and other educational institutions with specialized programs in the performing and visual arts.

Representatives from over 70 of the most prestigious fine arts schools will be present at the fair, including McNally Smith, The Juilliard School, Eastman School of Music, Interlochen Arts Academy, Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and the New England Conservatory. For a complete list of exhibiting schools, visit www.mcnallysmith.edu.

“There are so many great performing arts colleges and programs across the country that students haven’t been exposed to,” said Jack McNally, President of McNally Smith College of Music. “This event gives them the chance to gather information from multiple colleges and make an informed decision when it comes to their educational future.”
