Risskov, Denmark – October 7, 2005 – TC-Helicon, world leading manufacturer of vocal technology products, today announced the VoiceDoubler for live applications.
VoiceDoubler is a rack-mount unit that is the first front of house effects processor to create up to four humanized overdubs in real time. The skill, time and punch-ins required to create a properly doubled vocal track in the studio are nearly impossible to accurately recreate in live performance but with VoiceDoubler, these problems are now solved. VoiceDoubler will ship in December, 2005 at EUR 999,- retail ex. VAT.
VoiceDoubler can recreate every conceivable doubling sound, including natural overdubs and pristine emulations of classic detune, microshift and chorus effects.
Based on VoicePro technology, live creation of "tight and intimate"
or "loose and lively" multitracked overdubbed sounds is possible with
VoiceDoubler’s advanced Inflection and FlexTime blocks. VoiceDoubler is
easy to setup and comes loaded with 50 factory and 99 user presets.
VoiceDoubler can also be used to create a "group shout" effect typically
used for hiphop and rap vocals. One VoiceDoubler can be used for each onstage
singer to match recorded vocals and create virtual choirs.
CEO of TC-Helicon, Kevin Alexander, says: “The subtle and complex pitch
and timing cues that tell your brain how many people are singing requires more
than merely layering on a chorus or detune effect. We’ve spent years developing
this technology that allows you to create up to four humanized overdubs in real
time for live use.”
VoiceDoubler comes with a secondary input for polyphonic instruments and balanced
analog XLR I/O and AES/EBU digital I/O.
