This year, Alcons Audio will be present at the ProLight & Sound show with a number of product introductions. New products include not only speaker systems, but also electronics.
Extending the Alcons range with the completely new “S-series” category, Alcons displays the SR9 as the first product.
The SR9 is an ultra-compact ribbon loudspeaker, specifically designed for applications where ultimate fidelity response needs to be projected with wide horizontal and precise vertical coverage, such as low-profile stage-lip/front-fill, upper-/under-balcony or stair risers or walls.
The VR8 compact ribbon monitor will be on show in “all-NeoDymium transducer” configuration, with the same well-known extended HiFi response and versatile cabinet shape, but with a weight of less than 10kg./22lb.
The already famous flexibility of the LR14 ultra-compact ribbon line-array is “stretched” even further with the introduction of a new mounting option, that makes the complete array “step less” adjustable with just one pick-point.
But main focus will be on the introduction of Digital Drive Processor, DDP™ in short.
This new development marks the entrance of Alcons in the digital processing domain, to even further improve the control of the speaker systems. The exchangeable processing device is complementary to the Alcons ALC controller-amplifiers and caters for improved ease-of-use in the handling and controlling of Alcons sound systems. A very important step forward in Alcons’ “system synergy” philosophy.
More info on this absolute novelty will be made available right before the show.
Of course, a selection of other Alcons products will be on show, including the QR36 ribbon-array columns, the LR14 ultra-compact ribbon line-array with LR14B bass system, which are applied in the touring Beauty & the Beast musical production.
