French studio engineer, consultant, and high-end recording
equipment seller Christophe Bouillot will be joining forces with deluxe
microphone manufacturer Crowley and Tripp at this year's AES Paris 2006 Show
May 20-23rd.
Christophe, who has been involved with studio recording for
years and now operates from his Chevilly-Larue, France location, will be a
new face at AES this year, along with Crowley and Tripp Microphones,
introduced by their US-based product manager Christopher Regan. The two will
be demonstrating the new Crowley and Tripp Naked Eye dual voiced ribbon
microphone at the show, and also at Twin Studios in Paris each evening of
the show.
"The new dual voiced Naked Eye ribbon mic has been very well received in
early appearances in Europe, and we look forward to introducing it at AES
Paris." remarked Regan, "The Naked Eye design is inspired by the sound of
Crowley and Tripp's highly regarded Proscenium and Studio Vocalist
microphones. It is geared toward personal studio owners and artists who
require greater flexibility and robust output with low noise, which is
something that Crowley and Tripp have become known for."
Remarked Christophe Bouillot, who recently used the Crowley and Tripp
microphones to record the score of the French film "OSS 117 Le Caire: Nid
D'Espions." "Audio Addict is very very happy with the Crowley and Tripp
mics. They have a sound that is smooth like a ribbon, but with the desirable
sound of a large diaphragm condenser that makes them much more useable than
most ordinary ribbon mics." Continued Bouillot, "Everybody is amazed when
they first hear them! They have no direct comparisons in either ribbon or
condenser categories, are very versatile, and are the product of some high
tech research going on by people with serious experience in acoustics."
Crowley and Tripp and Audio Addict will have live demos of the microphones
at booth #1929 throughout the AES show. Models that will be exhibited
include the Soundstage Image, Proscenium, Studio Vocalist, and new Naked Eye
ribbon microphones, all hand-built in the USA by people who know and
understand the art of great microphones.
