DJ Sets Broadcast Live on XM Satellite Radio to Worldwide Audience
Beatport, the leading premium electronic music download store, hosted its "Beatport pool party" at this year's Remix Hotel in Miami to a jam-packed crowd. In the course of the 4-day event at the National Hotel, March 22-25, over 9,000 music aficionados showed up to dance and party the night/day away with industry pros, label owners, producers and over two-dozen DJs hailing from all over the world. The event was broadcast on Thursday and Friday on XM Satellite Radio's "The Move" channel. The "Beatport pool party" was presented at Remix magazine's Remix Hotel that included sponsors Apple and Microsoft and coincided with the renowned Winter Music Conference 2007.
"We were thrilled at the turnout to the Beatport pool party," said Beatport CEO Jonas Tempel. "It was literally the place to be, hosted at one of the most spectacular pools in South Beach! It offered music fans the opportunity to hang with music industry heavyweights, DJs, and media from around the globe. It was truly a memorable event. And thanks to XM Satellite Radio, we were able to broadcast the music to listeners worldwide."
Performances broadcast on XM Satellite's "The Move" included sets from Audiofly, Todd Terry, The Scumfrog, Kaskade, DJ Rap, Gaiser, Tiefschwarz, Richie Hawtin, Magda and Troy. "The Move is the first 24/7 club-culture dance channel playing house, progressive, drum n' bass, and downtempo. Program Director, Luis Baro has been a driving force behind club culture in Chicago for over 12 years, as has its host, on-air personality and DJ, Orbit.
