Westlake Village, CA (July 24, 2007) – Brantley Sound Associates of Nashville has upgraded its power capacity by investing in 70 new Lab.gruppen FP+ Series FP 7000 power amplifiers.
The new complement of Swedish-built amplifiers is used to power Brantley’s diverse loudspeaker inventory, which includes EAW 760, Adamson SpekTrix and Adamson Y10 line array systems.
According to Joe Calabrese, Brantley’s chief audio engineer, the choice of Lab.gruppen was a fairly straightforward decision. “The amps we had before simply were not as good,” he states matter-of-factly. “They were underpowered and not very reliable. We talked to some people at Adamson, and also to ML Executives in Great Britain. They both strongly recommended Lab.gruppen.”
In the first few weeks, the amps were run through their paces on all three systems, handling a variety of corporate events and concerts, including the Village People, Diamond Rio, Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, Country Music Marathon concert, and the induction ceremonies at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
“We heard a huge difference compared to the old amps,” says Calabrese. “I have three times the headroom, plus everything is warmer sounding and very punchy. The performance far exceeds what we got from the other amplifiers we’d been using.”
In addition to sound quality and reliability, exceptional power density also tipped the choice toward Lab.gruppen, claims Calabrese. “It’s really amazing to have that amount of power in such a lightweight rack. That’s what’s really cool.”
Brantley Sound Associates has grown steadily to become one of the Southeast’s leading sound providers for corporate and entertainment events. BSA's systems have powered stages at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and the New Orleans Jazzfest, and have fulfilled the audio needs of clients from Iron Maiden to Crystal Gayle, from Pope John Paul II to Poco. Notable corporate clients include Medtronic and Nissan Motors.
