SAE Students and Alumni combine forces to organise first SAE Night at top Isling

This content is brought to you by Audiocourses dot com

This summer saw one of Islington's finest venues turned into a club night and showcase for up and coming talent from London's SAE Institute.

Clockwork on the Pentonville Road is fast gaining a reputation as the place to go for an eclectic mix of DJs and live music - so where better to hold a night for SAE Students and Alumni.

And the first ever 'SAE Night' more than lived up to the hype, thanks to Mashed UK, the promotions company run by SAE students who for the most part organised the night - including the blistering line up of talent that kept the crowded venue packed until the small hours with a solid bill of DJs and live bands playing an eclectic mix of Funk, Soul, Metal, Rock and Reggae.

DJs spinning the finest in Funky House and Progressive Electronica got the crowd warmed up from the start, and although power fluctuations made for an intermittent start due to overloading the club's power supply, SAE students responsible for engineering and producing the session quickly isolated and fixed the problem so the night could get properly underway with a diverse range of bands taking to the stage.

'SAE Night', however, doesn't exist solely as a musical showcase. While bands were breaking down and setting up the entertainment didn't stop as all assembled enjoyed some excellent film and visuals, courtesy of SAE's student film-makers and VJs.

But not only was this showcase for the students and alumni, 'SAE Night' was also run by the students and members of the Alumni Association, with every aspect of the evening planned and organised by the students and alumni. From recruiting DJs, bands and selecting films from student entries to working with the venue, designing promotional posters, flyers and an accompanying website, not to mention sound-checking and setting up the equipment to filming the event… every aspect of this SAE Night is a testament to the skill and know-how of students and alumni from all of SAE's courses.

Indeed, the evening has already been hailed a great success by all concerned - so much so that discussions are already underway for the next 'SAE Night'.
