Acclaimed British Band to Release Label Debut March 23rd
Muse, one of the most acclaimed bands on the British music scene, has signed an exclusive contract with Warner Bros. Records. The group's debut album for the label, Absolution, has been set for release March 23rd and the group is scheduled to perform May 2nd at the year's premier music event, the Coachella Music and Arts Festival.
Muse, recently nominated for a prestigious Brit award as Best British Rock Act, is comprised of Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme. Hailing from the small Devon town of Teignmouth, the former schoolmates released their first album, Showbiz, in 1999, followed in 2001 by Origin Of Symmetry. Absolution, features fourteen Muse originals including "Stockholm Syndrome," "Butterflies And Hurricanes" and the first stateside single, "Time Is Running Out." The album, produced by Rich Costey (Audioslave, Rage Against The Machine, The Mars Volta) was recorded in London, Devon and Los Angeles in 2003. Since the album's international release last October, the group has toured extensively through Europe, Australia and Japan.

Absolution has been called "Astonishing ... the UK rock record of the year," by NME, while Q raved, "For sheer bravado and imagination Absolution is something that few bands will top."
