SAE London invest heavily in new facility

SAE Institute have acquired a new building in the capital – plans already underway for 7-storey super-college…

London, UK: SAE Institute are already the established world leader in providing degree-standard audio, film and multimedia education, but 2008 is shaping up to see the biggest shake up of the UK operation to date. The latest development sees SAE London move from it’s current location at Caledonian Road to a much more modern 7-storey campus – and in doing so SAE Institute will be expanding the campus to accommodate more students with even more resources.

A mere stone’s throw from London’s Olympic site for 2012, the much sought-after standalone location on Kingsland Road allows operations to be spread across 18,000 square feet of the state-of-the-art facility.

Planners at the SAE Institute are still finalising the details, but early indications suggest the Kingsland Road site will house 11 audio studios, a film mixing theatre (featuring the industry-standard Neve DFC PS/1), 4 video editing studios, ‘green screen’ capabilities and generally improved facilities throughout.

A new tube station, based near to Kingsland road and part of the East London Line, is slated to open in 2010, allowing for even easier access to London’s largest multimedia institute.

SAE Institute founder Tom Misner said: “With this latest development we’re moving SAE London to Hoxton, the heart of creativity in one of the world’s most vibrant and important cities. Once again we’re underlining SAE Institute’s commitment to learning, to technology and to the industries our students train to be a part of. But most of all it’s about the commitment to our students. SAE Institute has consistently raised the bar when setting benchmarks for learning, but with this new facility we’re taking things to a whole new level.”
