API 1608 CONSOLE - A HIT AT ITALY'S FUNKY JUNK

This content is brought to you by Audiocourses dot com

MILAN, ITALY - AUGUST 2008: After fewer than ten years in the pro audio retail game, Italy's Funky Junk has risen to the top as Europe's most respected dealer for consistently supplying the highest quality new and used gear.

Founded and run by distribution-specialist Paolo Orizio and renowned sound tech Manlio Amorelli, with over fifty years combined pro audio experience, Funky Junk began distributing all-analog API gear almost from the start. API continues to be one of their most successful lines, a fact that inspired the purchase of an all-new API 1608 console as a demo unit for their Milan-based showroom.

Commented Orizio, "Our customers have always loved API, although it's hard to separate how much of that is due to our overwhelming enthusiasm for the API sound. We never hesitate to recommend API!" Orizio observed that the way people make music has changed, with project studios centered on DAWs replacing the traditional studio. "In these situations, a truly powerful and honest-sounding analog console can make all the difference. With our 1608 in the showroom, we can let our clients feel and hear API's quality. It's one thing to read a story about API, but turning those solid pots with your own fingers and hearing that indescribable sheen and authenticity with your own ears truly convinces."

In less than two months, Funky Junk sold two 1608 consoles - a 32-channel unit to Starlight Studio in Naples and the standard version to Music Priority in Milan.

The API 1608 incorporates the company's discrete electronics topology and is built to the same exacting standards as the flagship Vision and Legacy Series consoles. The standard 1608, with sixteen input channels, eight buses, eight aux sends, eight reverb returns and full center section facilities, includes a dozen 550A three-band equalizers and four 560 ten-band graphic EQ modules with space available for eight additional 500 Series modules.

Automated Processes, Inc. remains the leader in analog recording gear, with the Vision surround production and Legacy Series recording consoles, the DSM Series rack-mounted mixers, and the classic line of modular signal processing equipment.
