Hi Christopher,

Sorry for the delay in replying. Things are quite bust at the moment.

I am an electronics designer and manager. I used to desiugn desks, amplifiers, effects etc. so I am well up on the electronics and software theory. I have benefitted from your course by now getting up to speed on the use of equipment. My reasons for doing this are:

1. I am part of a church music team. I play electric, acoustic and bass guitar and also work with the sound system. I am looking to be a better live sound mixer.

2. I have a small project studio setup at home (Logic Audio Platinum PC, Roland VSR-880 + RPC-1 card, Focusrite Channel Strip preamp, AKG C3000 condenser microphone, Behringer 2642 mixer + SW plugins. I have recorded one albums for others and want to get better at it. It is not primarily a commercial venture but enabling others to realise their dreams.

3. I am also recording an album of my own material. This is an 'uncorking' project for me.

In all the above, being a better sound engineer is one of my goals in becoming more effective. I am probably more interested in recording techniques, sound design, arrangement, space and energy within a mix and mastering than in basics of how the equipment works.

I am a good researcher and know how to learn so you collection of information has been useful. It is a little light on in some of the areas I was interested in but still good value for money. I have structured into a set of linked directories by topic and have a html index to pull up any document.

I hope this is helpful in understanding how I am using the material I got from you.

Regards,

Ray
