This content is brought to you by Audiocourses dot com

PMC Austrian distributor AviTech, has installed a PMC monitoring system in a further classical broadcasting facility.

Following the success of the PMC AML-1 Active monitoring it installed for Austrian Broadcast Corporation (ORF), in its control room facility in the world famous Musikverein concert hall in Vienna, ORF ordered a second AML-1 system from AviTech, for its broadcast control room in the equally famous Staatsoper (State Opera House) in the city.

The Vienna State Opera is among the oldest in the world and its home plays host to countless international singers and conductors, as well as to the famous annual Vienna State Opera Ball. Commenting for ORF, Christian Sodl, Production Manager Funkhaus Wien, states, “We have chosen the AML-1 from PMC because they have got a very realistic and natural spacial resolution. This is an especially important aspect for the recording of opera. Thus the depth of the sound stage can be relayed in a true-to-life manner in the recording.”

AViTech Managing Director, Edvard Potisk states, “After the success of the AML-1 monitors in the 5.1 control room in the Musikverein, the installation in the Staatsoper is an additional accolade for PMC and their use in so any classical installations throughout Europe.”

About the AML-1

The AML-1 is a no compromise compact active monitor design like no other. Every element in the build of the AML1 is of the highest audiophile grade, from the custom drive units down to the OS-Con™ capacitors utilised in the key areas of the crossovers and power amplifiers. The AML-1 belies its size and boasts sub-35Hz performance from a modern sculpted compact cabinet. The AML-1 incorporates PMC’s 6.5 inch flat piston woofer, constructed from carbon fibre/ Nomex™ honeycombe, which allows large, controlled linear excursions. This is partnered by the PMC 34mm silk dome tweeter common to all the company’s large active designs. The two drivers are integrated by discrete, low noise active cross-overs, which together with the amplification have been born out of the collaboration between Bryston and PMC, resulting in unrivalled quality and reliability.
