Future sound engineers are finding an opening into the industry through work based learning placements on Truro College’s HND in Sound Engineering & Multimedia Integration course.

Several graduates from this year’s programme attained highly coveted placings. Mark Borrow worked with the BBC on the Jonathan Ross and Jools Holland show, Tomorrow's World and Blue Peter, Phil Collins worked at the prestigious recording studios of Olympic and Geoff Gibson gained employment at Peter Gabriel's studio Real World and also worked at the recent Glastonbury festival on one of the main stages.

“It is universally acknowledged that the sound industry is a fiercely competitive business and it takes more than just technical skills to succeed,” said programme manager Chris Hambly. “The more breaks the industry gives its students, the more experienced, equipped and committed they will be as budding professionals.”
