WHY women are better e-learners than men is just one of the themes to be discussed in a programme of 12 e-learning conferences in 2005 to be held across Wales.
Organised jointly by the University of Glamorgan's Online Pedagogy Research
Unit and the Wales e-Training Network, the first conference will be held at
the Glamorgan Business School on Friday, January 28, and covers collaboration
in e-learning development.
Each one-day conference will cover a different theme and is open to the public,
FE and HE institutions, learning agencies, or anyone interested in e-learning.
Topics covered throughout the year will range from best practice in developing
e-learning to the effect of gender on the design of web pages and will be delivered
by nationally recognised experts.
Head of the Wales E-Training Network Professor Tony Toole said, "Many
people in all areas of education and training recognise that e-learning is here
to stay and there is demand for increased awareness and training about how e-learning
can help both teachers and learners.
"We hope to raise awareness of e-learning benefits but also introduce
people to some of the bigger themes and subjects".
