Most important select the right drivers "emu asio" in your audio aplication also right click on the emu icon on the desk top tool bar & read the help files ,there is a bit of settiing up to do but once you get the hang of it ,it really is a fad card .I HAVE THE 1820m with the emu('Rolling Eyes')emulator x sampler very good 1 month in & still learning.

Hi all!

I'm glad to see someone else having an E-MU 1820. I got mine about two months ago. Still having problems with it...

I use the emu drivers but i can't get rid of some latency when recording. I work on an album with a rock-band at the moment and we are recording the vocals and overdubs.

Now here's the problem: when laying vox to the previously recorded tracks it has som latency on the recorded track so the vocals lag, compared to the rest. What should I do? Increase buffer size, decrease, alter other settings...?

I hope someone has an answer. Thanks!
