Computerized Vocals  Reply with quote

Hi everyone,

I am using Cool Edit Pro and Fruity Loops 4 to create some digital recording for me and my friends. I created the music using fruity loops 4,send it into cool edit to fit in the vocals. After that I tried to add a bit of FX to the vocal to make it sound Computerized (Not really robotic, or allien type), but rather a good/clean fx. Are there any possiblities I could get the FX I wanted in any of the two softwares?

Thanks alot
Razz

Yeah I have that trouble too, I usually use the “chorus” FX in FL to make the vocal sound clearer but it distorts the sound a little and adds a mild echo. but yeah its good......................... Very Happy

plugins/fx  Reply with quote

hi,
if your software doesnt have its own 'bundled' plugins, u can download a few off the net. i havent used cool edit before, but i think it does support VST plugins. so u can either download or look into investing into some good plugins that may help like compressors, reverb, etc.
there are quite a few plugins in fruity loops too, try workin with those.

CEP uses DirectX plugs varun.

as for the robotic sound theres a preset somewhere that does it. a couple in fact under the modulation plug ins i believe, cant think exactly which one without it in front of me.

will get back to you on that, cant see CEP as i stole the screen from PC for dual screen on mac. lol

yeah, there should be a robotic preset on the flanger in cep and the chorus in cep. you can experiment with the values on both of the plugins to see what you come up with

yep yep
