| decay higher |
|

not exactly sure what kind of echo you want, but if you set the decay higher, the echo will last longer. also play with the initial volume, as generally the presets have this set lower when there is a high decay rate.
it also depends on how long the sample is that you are delaying, you may need to add some silence to it if it is a small sample.
also, if you are highlighting a section and want the echo to go beyond the highlighted section make sure you have the "continue echo beyond selection" box checked.
hope that helps. if you could give me a little more information on your problem I might be able to help more. you can certainly get a long echo going in Cool Edit. |

| messes up the vocalz |
|

yes i tried extending the decay slider but it messes up the vocalz.....i want the echo to continue for about 2-3 sec. but still having the vocal playing....hard to explain.......ok i'll try to explain like this...i have a rap artist and her lyrics are like so......"i may be a bitch but im far from a pussy"
i want the it to echo "bitch" but still have the verse running so the "bitch" echo is running while the verse continues" i may be a bitch, but, bitch, im, bitch, far , bitch, from a pussy" sorry for the lyrics and if u cant understand i tried the best i can to explain _________________ Nuno |

highlight the bitch part, make the decay long and check "continue echo after selection" that is the little box in the bottom right. it should do exactly what you are explaining.
I had some problems with it screwing up in 2.0..shifting the sound after the echo but that was running a cracked copy. when I got a real licence, it was happy.
I haven't experienced the problem wiht audition 1.5 |

Hey friend, no need to feel sheepish. the only crime would be if you didn't ask. We're all here for the same reason, love of music and sound production and helping out others with like passions. that's why I love this site... different people at different levels of knowledge.
anyways, I hope your project turns out tops.
