my computer wont set to 24 bit sampling rate and it also wont set to 96khz.
It then automatically reset itself to a 16 bit sampling rate. so i guess it is my sound card?
I am probly gonna buy a new one....

That should be fine for you.
I think Sonar mention those as being compatible, I remember reading it some where.
I put your post in this "soundcards" forum. Also don't forget we have [url=http://www.audiocourses.com/forum-197.html]
Sonar forum here

If you ask me...
Don t buy anything from Creative
I have Audigy 2 ZS and it drives me nuts
You wont have any problem while watching films or playing PC games (as it is 7.1) but it is (in my opinion) useless if you are doing anything related with mixing /making /recording music
I hope I am not too late to say that |

Hi,
If going Creative, the ZS Platinum Pro is the minimal to go for, and it does the job nicely with ocasional "clicks and pops" in ASIO 2 in low-latency and heavy usagee, but I'm sure you can live with that, they don't get rendered in the mixdowns.
For laptops, there's also the ZS PCMCIA, based on the same tech as the ZS Platinum Pro, quite reliable for live playing, but, not for live mixing due to those formentioned ocasional (though subtle) clicks and pops.
Sound quality is indeed audiophile though.
Kind Regards,
AMR

I have the audigy 2 on 2 of my computers/laptop
be very careful of the so said specs.
"24-bit Analog-to-Digital conversion of analog inputs at 96kHz sample rate
24-bit Digital-to-Analog conversion of digital sources at 96kHz to analog 5.1 speaker output "
check out some of the forums on "www.soundonsound.com"
Be careful !It is said on some of the reviews that it can EMULATE these specs.
When it emulates it slows the playback quite a lot even in creative asio.
Lets say I have 10 tracks to play back you will get some delay at these specs.
If your using it for home use it's a good sound card for the price.
Sound on sound has done very good research on many cards and they have a charts that rates them.Check them out.
One other note if you have another sound card Audigy will not perform well.
You may get a conflict message even with the other card disarmed.
Like i've said I do have them and use them but not for recording or playing back multitrack. My units are pentium4/windows XP.
Good luck!

Hi,
The Audigy Platinum Pro ZS and PCMCIA card do not "emulate" 24bit 96khz, they really sample at that rate and definition (unlike the normal Audigy2, which upsamples from 48 khz), realisticaly, no artifacts or tricks added, and both playback, also realisticaly with no tricks, 24 bit 192 khz and up to 7.1 24/96 khz REAL playback with audiophile signal to noise ratio.
Do not mistake Audugy 2 (inferior) with an "Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro" and the PCMCIA PCCard for laptop version (that is equal to ZS PlatPro in all, but lacks MIDI).
Kind Regards,
AMR

Hi! are we talking about the same card.?
The cards I have came out in 2003 I'm sure creative has come out with something since.one of the reviews I've read was reprinted in Sept 2005 but came out in oct/2003.
I'll have to check in the studio for the extentions after audigy.
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/oct03/articles/audigy.htm.
I'm sure they're a great card but for what I use it for it's not.
