| QT/WM/RM for webcast? |

Hi,
For streaming audio and video which format do you prefer and which do you think is better according to your experience? Quick Time or Media Player (wmv/wma) or Real Player?

Well being a PC user here I basically use wmv, as the software comes pre-loaded.
Quicktime needs to be installed as an additional app which kinda bugs me.
However, I often get to view .3gp files from mobile phone users and this is indeed a Quicktime file, many sites also use quicktime for video content.
I guess we need both to ensure we do not loose out on content. _________________ It's all in the ears. - Learn the concepts not the software.

I think there is very little in it...
I guess as a producer unless you cater for both you might loose a lot of the audience. _________________ It's all in the ears. - Learn the concepts not the software.

Yeah thats true. A lot of these websites cater only for media player.
But I think maybe even flash should be looked into (.flv). I'v tried streaming through flash. Mp3 works nicely, but for video I find that .wmv and .mov work better. But this I'm talking with a 64Kbps connection. |

I much prefer flash as it does not have the big plugin downloads and it is a lot easier to embed in webpages etc.

Yes flash is a "good un" as typically 90% of browsers come pre-packaged with the plug-in.
Some really good flash players (to be embedded) around also, we are looking at a couple for this site.
Any you suggest? _________________ It's all in the ears. - Learn the concepts not the software.
