<mike_nostradamus> hello in the uk!!
<audiocourses> Welcome Mike.
<audiocourses> How you doing?
<mike_nostradamus> nice to be here no trouble logging on
<audiocourses> Good, I think I sorted it this week ;)
<mike_nostradamus> great! Had one hectic week!! so I decided to go and buy a new desk yesterday and its awesome!!
<audiocourses> Wow...  sounds good. what did you get?
<mike_nostradamus> Looking at a lot of magazines ,and listening  and using different brands I decided on a Beringher 1804 portable unit
<audiocourses> Interesting... good reputation that company.
<mike_nostradamus> If I do well with that one I will change my studio desk to same but a 48 channel.
<audiocourses> Good plan...  all those options ;)
<mike_nostradamus> the specs are so close between all of the big names
<mike_nostradamus> I was really surprised at the onboard features
<audiocourses> That's very true.. much of it comes down to personal preference really..
<audiocourses> Yeah? Lots of built in goodies?
<mike_nostradamus> well I dont want to talk your eyes off on my new toy so How did we make out this week.I had a few glitchs

<audiocourses> Welcome Nancy..
<audiocourses> Early doors for you this week?
<resol69> Hi again!
<mike_nostradamus> welcome Nancy.sure thing Chrish
<resol69> Hi Mike, hope you all had a good week.
<audiocourses> Mike had a good week, he bought a new desk!
<mike_nostradamus> Not bad  at all!!
<audiocourses> brb
<mike_nostradamus> thats only one day out of the week it was the studiying and searching and searching...
<resol69> Yes, I thought it was fun. I know more about how a computer works than I ever thought I would!
<mike_nostradamus> nancy what the weather like
<mike_nostradamus> nice bomby =8 c here
<resol69> It's nice today, but we had two days of pouring rain. All was flooded here in Los Angeles. Should go up to 60 f here.
<mike_nostradamus> that was =8 i'm walking around in my T shirt
<resol69> Does it ever snow where you are. I moved from New York to get away from the Winter
<mike_nostradamus> 60 that swimming temp up here!!
<mike_nostradamus> Yes it snows I'm from northern Ontario we get more than our fair share
<resol69> Are you a skiier? I try to get to the snow a few times a year to ski.
<mike_nostradamus> No not this guy! I used to cross country ski but gave it up when I moved to another city to many hill here
-> *ChanServ* set #audiocourses OPguard on
<mike_nostradamus> But I do snowmachine.I have 2 of them I use them to go to the cottage
<resol69> I think x country is a lot tougher than downhill. I always wanted to try snowmobiling. Sounds like fun!
<mike_nostradamus> Its not bad but getting real expensive  to use 4 months out of the year
<resol69> Sounds like you have too much Winter. I've been in sunny LA for two years. I wouldn't be able to take it!
<resol69> I guess gas adds to your costs.Gas is getting really expensive here. Over $2 per gallon.
<mike_nostradamus> Ah!! youd get use to it!! It a diferrent type of living!!
* ChanServ sets mode: +rtn
* DaniCook has joined #audiocourses
<DaniCook> hi everyone
<resol69> Hi Dani.  Have a good week?
<DaniCook> yes thank you, busy, but productive, how about you?
<mike_nostradamus> The price of gas is aprox. . a litre..83 which would be about the same.hi danny
<DaniCook> hi mike, hope you're well
<resol69> Pretty good, did my weekly engineering gig, nothing new though.
<DaniCook> nice to get your hands dirty though isn't it,
<audiocourses> HI all.
<DaniCook> hi chris
<mike_nostradamus> Yes I'm well had a not bad week but no actual recording but a lot of experimenting
<resol69> absolutley. keeps me on my toes. Hi again Chris.
<mike_nostradamus> HI
<audiocourses> Nancy  how was the gig this week?
<audiocourses> get the foldback sorted?
<resol69> Very good. It was my regular gig at the coffeehouse. Set up 4 different bands. The one with the foldback problems was a one-shot deal.
<audiocourses> That certainly keeps us on our toes those multiple band gigs...
<resol69> Yes, I enjoy it. Learn a lot!
<audiocourses> Do you get to know who will be playing before the gigs?
-> *ChanServ* set #audiocourses URL http://www.audiocourses.com
<resol69> It's different bands every week.  Sometimes I've seen them before when I fill in on different days. This week I had a girl singing along to a CD track. She even brought dancers with her. Very odd for the coffeehouse!
<audiocourses> hehe sounds a giggle..
<resol69> I dug it! She was 13, probably the next Britney. I can say  I knew her when!
<audiocourses> Ben and Aidan are logged in should not be long.
<DaniCook> lol
<audiocourses> yeah she might have her world tour by this time next year..
<audiocourses> if packaged correctly. ;)
<mike_nostradamus> Nancy are you actully recording or are you doing sound stage pro for monitors.I'm asking because i'm somewhat in the same boat
<resol69> Oh, she had the look goin' on. For sure.
* Guest89952 has joined #audiocourses
<DaniCook> can we say that we knew you, who knew her? do you tink we can get kudos off that? lol
* Guest89952 is now known as ben_m
<ben_m> hi guys, sorry i'm a bit late
<resol69> Right know it's live sound. I handle the mix in the room, the monitors and a separage mix being broadcast over the web. YOu can check it out at Kulakswoodshed.com
<DaniCook> evening ben
<resol69> Dani, of course drop our names. That's what people in the biz do. LOL!
<DaniCook> LOL!
<resol69> Hi Ben, I'd say good evening but it's 11:15 am here! LOL
<mike_nostradamus> that name sound like from my end of the earth
<audiocourses> http://www.kulakswoodshed.com/ seems to be down or incorrectly typed resol?
<resol69> Must be down. It is correct.
<audiocourses> OK, I'l bookmar and check it later.. I'm very interested in audio broadcasts over the internet.
<mike_nostradamus> hi ben
<audiocourses> hi ben.
<DaniCook> the link works, i'm watching a cast now, the main bit is down but the webcast link works
<ben_m> hi there
<audiocourses> not working my end lol... different pipe possibly.
<DaniCook> maybe, the beavers have got yours, :-0
<resol69> Not working for me either, and I the closest to the source. The live broadcast is at night, so they may be doing maintenance.
<audiocourses> Blimey... long arms those chaps..

<audiocourses> Resol did you get up to date with the beavers?
<resol69> Not really, lost there.
<mike_nostradamus> Igot cut off i'm back
<audiocourses> it wa sin the text from the last workshops..
<audiocourses> Mike hi again would you explain the beaver jokes for nancy?
<resol69> Oh, right. I remember reading it now.
<mike_nostradamus> Well I take pride in my pet beavers and moose.Thats because I live in the forest where it nice and quiet!!!
<mike_nostradamus> There like rats out here
<mike_nostradamus> Big rats
<resol69> Thanks Mike! Different sort of living than the jungle of Los Angeles! Rats, EEEK.
<audiocourses> The concept to us "brits" is humorous... we don't get either over here in our "tiny" spaces.
<audiocourses> Well anyway lets get cracking....shall we?
<mike_nostradamus> Thats what I was wondering?I guess you dont have any there
<DaniCook> you think you've got it bad, we harmless little spiders to scare the crap out of us in england, some of them are so BIG you could fit nearly half a dozen of them in your hand! lol
<ben_m> is this the city and guilds zoology course?
<audiocourses> OK plan for next 1.5 hours
<DaniCook> lol
<audiocourses> Further research 30 mins (more integration)
<audiocourses> File explorer - live task:30 mins
<audiocourses> Any other business:
<audiocourses> OK?
<DaniCook> ok
<mike_nostradamus> ok
<resol69> Okey dokey
* audiocourses changes topic to 'heads up'
<audiocourses> Ok so you all did a great job I thought.
<DaniCook> thank you
<mike_nostradamus> ditto
<audiocourses> Welcome, it was very good research mostly. What I'm keen to explore this week is two additional things.
<audiocourses> Firstly : more integration
<audiocourses> Secondly : more self reflection
<audiocourses> Lets tackle the first topic..
* Guest54326 has joined #audiocourses
<audiocourses> Aidan?
<resol69> So, we should get more involved in everyone elses's answers/posts?
<audiocourses> Resol, exactly.
<mike_nostradamus> ok
<DaniCook> ok
<audiocourses> I'm keen to encourage a more organic development of the themes.. where you start debating a little with each other.
<audiocourses> Bouncing ideas between one another.
<DaniCook> doesn't debate sometimes cloud the issue though?
<audiocourses> I want the issues clouded..
<DaniCook> ah, i see
<DaniCook> why?
<audiocourses> "clouding" invokes more self relfection... and a deeper learning.
* Guest71982 has joined #audiocourses
<audiocourses> For example if you Dani...
<resol69> I think we'll learn more getting other views. We can all read out of a textbood and get different things out of it.
<DaniCook> yes?
<audiocourses> disagree with Mike... Mike will have to re-think his perspective..
<audiocourses> He might then return with a "cloudy" idea you've not considered, which will hopefully force you into thinking from another standpoint.
<DaniCook> i think i understand the concept, it's interesting, i look forward to trying it. mike, you're wrong
<DaniCook> :-)
<audiocourses> lol
<resol69> Ouch!
<DaniCook> lol
<DaniCook> only kidding
<mike_nostradamus> I know!!
<audiocourses> We have two guests.... now who will identify them self?
<audiocourses> I'll have to kick ass otherwise.. lol
<DaniCook> i bet one of them's lord lucan
<audiocourses> Is either one of you guests Lord Lucan?
<DaniCook> lol
<resol69> You guys are wacky.lol.
<audiocourses> I'll give the guests some mins, they will hopefuly aprecciate what is missing in their live.. hehe
<DaniCook> we are all decendants of Python, lol what do you expect :-)
<audiocourses> OK so are we clear on this integration?
<DaniCook> yes
<resol69> Yup.
<audiocourses> Mike?
<mike_nostradamus> yes
<audiocourses> Ben?
<ben_m> yeah
<audiocourses> hehe
<ben_m> :)
<audiocourses> So the thing to do is to actively encourage your peers.
<DaniCook> <dani is worried by seemingly evil laughter from chris>
<audiocourses> try to motivate us into posting....
<audiocourses> fear not Dani.
<DaniCook> you want us to motivate you or the other students?
<audiocourses> I'm hoping you will motivate all of us..
<audiocourses> Over the coming weeks I will reinforce this type of learning by giving you "roles" for ths tasks.
<resol69> OK, Dani, It's all on your shoulders. Just kidding.
<DaniCook> lol
<audiocourses> IN essence some tasks will be team based, with a moderator, a researcher, a motivator etc etc.
<audiocourses> IN online learning, particularly in forums we typically take these assumed "roles".
<DaniCook> i guess we are working in the same way a group would in a classrooom, only we are far apart, but using the same principle
<audiocourses> It's a useful to swap " from our normal roles and try differing ways of group working.... but this will come with time. To sumamrise you all did great in the past week. I was impressed.
<audiocourses> Yes Dani I think you all are.
<DaniCook> thanks chris
<audiocourses> So guys what shall i do with these "lurkers"?
<DaniCook> give thewm 20 seconds to comply, then boot em'
<ben_m> aidan is online so i guess they are aborted attempts at joining the conversation
* Guest71982 has quit IRC (QUIT: User exited)
<DaniCook> got scared
<resol69> I'm w/ Dani. No "watchers" allowed
<mike_nostradamus> How come aidan is logged on but we dont see him
<audiocourses> good point ben
<audiocourses> ok nancy
<audiocourses> ben over to you for a couple mins please...
<ben_m> ok
<audiocourses> brb
<ben_m> following on from what Chris has just said...
* Guest16491 has joined #audiocourses
<ben_m> your answers were on the whole sound and well researched for the MT module
<ben_m> However, there are a couple of points
<ben_m> Foremost is that it is imperative that you try to understand the concepts and display them in your own words.
<ben_m> Foremost is that it is imperative that you try to understand the concepts and display them in your own words.
<ben_m> Any cutting and pasting of internet texts should be referenced with the site address so others can see where the information comes from
<ben_m> Also, the integration concept.
* Guest16491 has quit IRC (QUIT: User exited)
<ben_m> It is a little harder to apply to the MT content as it is arguably more objective than the RT content
* Guest38335 has joined #audiocourses
<DaniCook> that's what i've just thought
<ben_m> However, interaction between yourselves on the forum is encouraged greatly - share your experiences with any of the concepts covered - for instance the spec of your computer etc
<DaniCook> sure,
<resol69> Got it.
<mike_nostradamus> me too
<ben_m> As the MT module goes on, there will be more room for debating with some of the topics, but all debate is good. It is preferable to see all sides of the argument. Learning the 'answer' is good, but learning why that is the answer is better!
<DaniCook> yes, i can understand that
<ben_m> But, similiar to Chris, I was very impressed with the standard of research that was apparent on the forum
* Guest38335 has quit IRC (QUIT: User exited)
* Guest76353 has joined #audiocourses
<ben_m> How did you find the questions on the whole?
<DaniCook> yes, i enjoyed reading ppl's answers
<DaniCook> in answering,i learnt a lot and realised i knew more than i thought too,
<resol69> It was easy to find technical difinitions, not so easy to put them in "English" and explain how it relates to us.
<ben_m> Yes Nancy, it can be hard to put some of these concepts into everyday terms. However, the mental process involved in putting these concepts into laymens terms helps us further our conceptual graps - what a mouthful! lol
<mike_nostradamus> For me It was refreshing to keep up with the times.Like Nancy mentioned it was learning more about computers which is the way things  are going
<resol69> :) I was just happy that my computer worked the way it did.
<DaniCook> it helps to get the concept lodged in the brain for later recall
<ben_m> Exactly Dani
<audiocourses> back.
<ben_m> Mike - i'm glad you see it this way.
<DaniCook> ;)
<resol69> Now, I'll find out how it works, will help me fix things when they go wrong.
* Guest76353 has quit IRC (QUIT: User exited)
<mike_nostradamus> I guess things are going to get messier when we get into midi?
<audiocourses> I've just read the last section and you have all just covered the second topic..  self reflection.
<ben_m> It wont obviously be computer based for the whole module, but a good base knowledge of computer architecture is useful in many disciplines
* Guest17326 has joined #audiocourses
<resol69> Chris, how cool are we?  :)
* Guest17326 has quit IRC (QUIT: User exited)
<audiocourses> too cool 4 skool resol.
<DaniCook> we are waay! cool
* Guest51035 has joined #audiocourses
<mike_nostradamus> Too  hot for me!!!
<ben_m> Mike - Messy MIDI! Again, its not to hard once the fundamentals are defined
<audiocourses> <giggle>
<DaniCook> lol
<resol69> I learned on analog. MIDI is evil!
<mike_nostradamus> I have some understanding of it midi that is I use it a lot
<ben_m> Some good opinions on MIDI here!
<DaniCook> noooo! MIDI is king
<ben_m> hehe
<resol69> Oops, guess I shouldn't have said that to the computer guy! :)
<ben_m> Its turning into MIDI King of the Ring!
<DaniCook> i love MIDI it's like having 20 assistants in the booth
<mike_nostradamus> I like it very much!!.it depends on your equipment
* Guest51035 has quit IRC (QUIT: User exited)
<DaniCook> lol
<resol69> I'm sure once I learn more about it, I'll LOVE it as much as you all!
<mike_nostradamus> Nothing to it!!!
* Guest28950 has joined #audiocourses
<DaniCook> you'll see the benefits i hope nancy
<mike_nostradamus> nancy have you ever used midi
<resol69> I recorded an electronic drum track in MIDI on Pro Tools, try to quantize and made a big 'ol mess of it!
<ben_m> You guys are doing a good job of converting nancy to the church of MIDI
<DaniCook> yes, let's paray for her salvation, oh father, who art hath 16 channels.....
<ben_m> lol
<resol69> I'm being brainwashed!
<audiocourses> lol
<resol69> LOL

<mike_nostradamus> Dont give up read up on it as much as you can it gets better
<audiocourses> Hye who is the smiler.... what's your name and where do you come from? lol
<resol69> OK, I'll "worship" MIDI some more.
<audiocourses> be careful..
* Guest28950 is really very bored.
<DaniCook> yes, MIDI has a dark side, don't give in to it
-> *kick* #audiocourses guest28950
<mike_nostradamus> Must be rocky and bullwincle
<DaniCook> it's quicker...more seductive...
<DaniCook> sorry guys, quoting star wars, lol

<DaniCook> ROFL!
<DaniCook> that's brilliant!

<DaniCook> is the guest toni blair?
<audiocourses> lol
<mike_nostradamus> or tony bennet
<ben_m> soon find out - can we have a second resolution
<DaniCook> lol
<DaniCook> ooo, he/she is being cagey about the resolution
<ben_m> its blair...
<DaniCook> someone told me today, we were going to war? is that true?
<mike_nostradamus> Chrish! question Can we still use palltalk
<ben_m> i think we will be at war within the week
<DaniCook> oh dear :(
<audiocourses> If we need to or I can make this room private..
<ben_m> have we identified 'smiler' yet?
* ben_m has quit IRC (QUIT: User exited)
<resol69> We should have been at war weeks ago. Bush is a wimp. Tony Blair for president!

<resol69> Yes, looks like our guests are gone. :)
<DaniCook> muhaha

<mike_nostradamus> What did you do for voice diff. on second track from questios

<audiocourses> OK sorry guys Im back
<ben_m> sorry about that guys.
<DaniCook> np
<audiocourses> Now I'll make the channel private for next week ok..
<mike_nostradamus> Do you agree with adding a little reverb to one 2 nd track
<DaniCook> sounds interesting
<audiocourses> OK guys now we are all hear I have a live task for you
<audiocourses> here rather.. lol
<audiocourses> I've posted this weeks activities in the forum
<audiocourses> activity 1 is more questions..
<DaniCook> i would have dropped most things out of the mix and played with the levels until the vocalist could make it out
<mike_nostradamus> I see that
<audiocourses> activity 2 is a practical task..
<DaniCook> cool
<mike_nostradamus> go on!
<audiocourses> The task is a classical music edit
<mike_nostradamus> the pressure is on
<audiocourses> I have uploaded a .wav file
<audiocourses> You are to download that one, and create a "radio friendly" edit... of exactly 31 seconds
<DaniCook> ok <getting scared now>
<DaniCook> so you want a snap shot?
<audiocourses> Yes.
<resol69> How long is it now?
<DaniCook> does it need to be eq's/compressed for radio as well?
<audiocourses> Typically you would do this if you were to say create a snippet for a jingle advertising a programme..
<audiocourses> In fact it must be an mp3 when you are done
<audiocourses> Most radio stations now in fact archive their playlist on mp3
<resol69> So we are just editing for time?
<audiocourses> now I want to ensure we have no probs uploading/downloading.. so for now lets point our browsers here: http://www.audiocourses.com/part3/week3.zip
<audiocourses> You are also editing for excitment... the important bits of the tune needs to be prominent..what's term in the bizz as the "whistly" bits.
<resol69> I'm downloading now. May take some time.
<audiocourses> we al have adsl right?
<mike_nostradamus> yes I do
<audiocourses> phewwww
<audiocourses> lol
<audiocourses> about 21 meg I think.
<resol69> Uh, no. But  I can download at work and burn to CD if needed.
<audiocourses> resol I would strongly suggest that option..
<mike_nostradamus> How long is this wav file
<audiocourses> I remember the days of modems...
<audiocourses> the file is about 2.5 mins
<mike_nostradamus> Its gonna take some time to download with no dsl
<audiocourses> for sure...
<resol69> Will go. I'm getting DSL, but since am moving next month will wait til then.
<resol69> Meant, will do.
<audiocourses> I understand resol.
<resol69> This modem's stuff's gotta go!
<audiocourses> hehe yes
<audiocourses> anyone got it yet?
<DaniCook> 22%
<resol69> I cable modem better than DSL or the same?
<audiocourses> depends on the company... what you think ben?
<ben_m> yes, cable in the US can offer more than one speed i believe
<resol69> I'll check it out. Thanks. :)
<DaniCook> mine's slow because i'm downloading some "demos" of games, hehe
<mike_nostradamus> Every one has godd points and some bad
<audiocourses> ahhh ok dani..  did wonder cause it's a solid server that
<DaniCook> i'm getting 25k a sec
<DaniCook> well kb a sec
<resol69> The modem says there's 3 hours left to download. :(  will use computer at work tomorrow!
<audiocourses> ok so while that is going on...
<mike_nostradamus> cable the more people are online the slower it becomes/as dsl on the pnone line is slower but more reliable where I am
<audiocourses> yes cancel it resol
<audiocourses> next we need to see if we can upload.... for your finished master piece
<audiocourses> ok?
<resol69> OK.
<DaniCook> k
<resol69> Can also burn on disk and use work computer to upload. Have private office.  :)
<audiocourses> ok... upload center... is http://www.audiocourses.com/explorer/
<DaniCook> presents, lol
<audiocourses> hehe
<audiocourses> yeah.. perks of the job dani

<audiocourses> it's important that you create you mp3...and then zip it.
<audiocourses> you can't read it online...
<DaniCook> i just read mine
<resol69> Is there a freeware program for zipping?
<DaniCook> winzip
<audiocourses> ok so you create your mp3 then create a zip file of it.. that zip file you then upload in your folder just like you have done now.
<DaniCook> well, it's shareware
<resol69> Thanks, Dani
<DaniCook> np
<audiocourses> now to download each others you can either paste the the full url in the forum... i.e. http://www.audiocourses.com/part3/week3.zip
<audiocourses> this will force your browser to give you the option of saving the file..
<audiocourses> or you can use the explorer itself
<audiocourses> see the zip file online in explorer now? there is a blue icon far right
<audiocourses> hovering your mouse will revela the word "send"  click on that
<audiocourses> BUT
<audiocourses> when you are present with the save button... ensure the file extention is only .zip and not .zip.src (bug i need to fix)
* mike_nostradamus has quit IRC (QUIT: User exited)
<DaniCook> is week3.zip the same file that we just downloaded?
<audiocourses> yes dani
<DaniCook> ok
* Guest87919 has joined #audiocourses
* Guest87919 is now known as mike_nostradamus
<audiocourses> the explorer explores the contents of http://www.audiocourses.com/part3/
<resol69> I see the icon, but do not get the "send" when I hover. Can I just right click and use "save target as"
<audiocourses> yes resol go for it
<audiocourses> but watch out for that file extention when you save
<resol69> works fine, thanks.
<audiocourses> welcome
<audiocourses> can't wait to hear your edits.
<audiocourses> I'm sure Ben has some tasks up his sleeve for future weeks too
<ben_m> oh yes...
<DaniCook> cool
<audiocourses> bear in mind I will empty the contents of /part3 each week...
<audiocourses> so it is in your interest to get on top of file management your end.
<mike_nostradamus> you mean your going to wipe out our research from last week
<audiocourses> no not the forum...
<audiocourses> the area you just explored.
<audiocourses> the forum will stay till the end of the course :)
<mike_nostradamus> Ok I thought everything from last week
<audiocourses> no way..
<audiocourses> it's too cool dude
<DaniCook> have we got total control over the music, ot does it have to remaine faithfull to the origional?
<audiocourses> It is a radio edit to advertise a classical music program...
<DaniCook> ok
<audiocourses> 31 secs
<DaniCook> do we have to add a cheesy "welcome to radio 4.....) voice over :-)
<audiocourses> now this tasks covers both modules don't you think?
<resol69> Indeed.
* ben_m has quit IRC (QUIT: User exited)
<DaniCook> yes
<audiocourses> Yes please...
<DaniCook> i hope you're kidding, lol
<mike_nostradamus> yes
<audiocourses> I'd love to hear some voice with it. Do you think it would help you?

<DaniCook> i best practice my best James Mason then, haha
<resol69> Would be fun to hear what everyone sounds like. That's included in the 31 seconds right?
<audiocourses> yes Resol
<audiocourses> Bear in mind it is a serious audience, so let's keep it real.
<DaniCook> we in Hull have the worst accents in the world
<audiocourses> Ben  - what type of things will you be looking for in this task?
<ben_m> ok, well non abrupt starts and ends to the piece for starters
<audiocourses> dani, get resol to upload her voice so you can use that.. ;)
<mike_nostradamus> I'll keep the bear in mind to scatter the audience!
<DaniCook> hey, good idea
<ben_m> the clip should alson represent the most 'catchy' part
<audiocourses> think wide boys and girls
<audiocourses> yes bend good point
<audiocourses> ben,..  oops..
<ben_m> bend! lol
<DaniCook> lol
<audiocourses> sorry.. state of my mind
<DaniCook> let's not go into that chris, lol
<audiocourses> lol
<ben_m> I think that the voice should also be in keeping with vocal production techniques common in FM radio
<audiocourses> ohhh that's a good one!
<DaniCook> i used to like ben
<ben_m> hehe
<resol69> So we should try for a "smooth" sound. I'll have to get rid of my New York accent!
<DaniCook> :-)
<DaniCook> i'm going for "whispering" bob harris
* Guest59238 has quit IRC (QUIT: User exited)
<ben_m> I dont think accent is as much of a problem as compression/pacing etc
<audiocourses> Bob Harris rocks!
<DaniCook> hehe
<ben_m> I prefer Rolf...
<DaniCook> rofl
<mike_nostradamus> I've never tryed this type of stuff except for my own songs but I'll give it a try
<audiocourses> New York does also mind you..
* Guest59916 has joined #audiocourses
<audiocourses> Go for it Mike... make sure the beaver gets gated though
<DaniCook> rofl
<ben_m> yes mike, it is good to try other disciplines that you may not have experienced before
<ben_m> lol
<DaniCook> gated beaver, is that like a truss? lol
<audiocourses> lol... kinky huh.
<ben_m> hehe
<ben_m> Serious point now
<mike_nostradamus> You guys!!!!
<mike_nostradamus> he.he
* Guest59916 smiles at everyone in the room :-)
<audiocourses> yeah great smile dude...  what's your point?
<DaniCook> smiler's back
<ben_m> listen to the way music is used on radio adverts and the way that it is edited. Some adverts tend to use very abrupt lead ins and lead outs. others may have short fade ins/outs and other utilise natural breaks in the music
* Guest59916 has left #audiocourses
<audiocourses> Yes Ben. good stuff
<DaniCook> i know this isn't relevent, but i'm proud, so...
<DaniCook> one of my songs is being used in the USA for a TV ad
* Guest62993 has joined #audiocourses
