Hi,
Sorry, my mistake. I was reading "Recording and Production Techniques" by Paul White.
He says that when recording two guitars, for the support guitar a compressor
or
gate in ducking mode can be used.
Sorry, I read it wrong!
So what is ducking mode in a gate then? |

About half we down we discuss ducking, essentially a level drop in background music. _________________ It's all in the ears. - Learn the concepts not the software.

Not sure but I know you can do something similar with a waves C1 compressor.
You have a signal in the left side which is just used as a controller, essentially controlling when the right side should compress, so you have the signal you want to be ducked in the right side.
You set the "L > R" option as the "key mode".
You could have a signal from a voice from say an aux feeding the L, which would duck the music, which is on R.
get it? _________________ It's all in the ears. - Learn the concepts not the software.

Yeah I got it. Pretty cool.
What I did was I had the vocals in the left and the guitars in the right (aux feed to C1). But on the master I'm getting the guitars only on the right, while the vocals are coming through center |
