The Federal Communications Commissionis close to taking action on allowing consumer wireless equipment to operate on unused TV channels, the same frequencies as our wireless microphones and in-ear monitors.
This means that for example, someone could start up a laptop and cause interference of wireless microphone channels rendering them useless.
Sennheiser, Audio-Technica and Shure have been fighting our side but global companies such as Intel (makers of PC CPU's etc.) have used somewhat dirty tactics to fight their side, "Intel savagely attacked wireless mic systems on the last day of the comment period, when the wireless industry could no longer defend itself."
Just remember that next time you look at buying a computer.
I think if passed, this could be disastrous for the audio industry, especially for lower scale productions who cant afford to rent radio frequencies for their equipment.
