Stratocaster is always top of my list ... I had a cracker early 80s reissue for a while and so miss that these days.

I currently have an Epiphone Special Edition. It's not bad, but I think I'm a little too hard on it when it comes to playing style. I've used my friend's Strat for the longest time a few years back, and I loved it.

Other than that, I'm told I should really look into Ibanez (sp?). Something about how they're the choice guitars for metal heads and hard rockers and whatnot. Any idea if that's true?

I have an Epiphone somewhere in the garage, ok so it's not quite that bad, I used to use it as a spare to grab quickly during a string breakage.

That was when using a Charvel Jackson as my main tool, with a D'Marzio pickup in the bridge position, now that was some rock sound!

Metal does require a certain "bite" but mind you Randy Rhodes who played with Ozzy Ozborne had an awesome noise using a Gibson Les Paul, I think Zakk Wylde did following him also right?

My favorite is my Fender Telecaster Deluxe series. This one is special to me because it was a gift from my father. The neck was custom built to fit my hand because they are small or I should say I have short fingers.A couple more features are instead of having 2 pickups it has three Tex/Mex.I haven't seen to many like it or sound as good. It's solid midnight black with solid white pick guard.I have no hums from the pickups like the old tele's were bad for and I can make it sould like my Fender Strat. Both guitars are american made.

I also have a Fender flattop for ballads and softer music another present I received years ago.

I also have a Samick Slammer bass that I practice on before I play the other guitars. It seems to be a stetching exersice for the fingers. The frets on the 6 strings guitars don't seem so far away after playing bass.

Mike

What do you use now, guitar-wise?

Dive Bombs  Reply with quote

I use a few, I play a lot of classical these days although I have a Punk Gig (reunion) at xmas and I'll use an old Jackon Charvel guitar for mashing up some dive bombs.
