| Help with effects in ProTools |
This may sound like a silly question, but I cannot work out how to do this at all in Pro Tools. I know how to do it in real life with a real mixer.
Basically I have say 10 tracks, which i want to apply a reverb effect to. You could put 10 individual reverb inserts, one on each track, but this is very labour intensive on the computer and uses up lots processing and ram! So basically what I want to do is have say one or 2 reverb "units" and apple one of them to say 5 tracks and the other to the other 5 tracks for example. I know this is possible, its just like pluggin a reverb unit into the auxillary section of a mixer and then adjusting the aux knobs on each track you want the reverb. But I cant for the life of me work out how to do this in Pro Tools!
Could someone possibly, tell me a step-by-step process of doing this?

| Create an Audio track |
No worries. I got it sussed now. This is what i did;
Basically, Create an Audio track(Stereo) to house the reverb effect in the insert of that track. On the tracks you want the reverb, you send it out of a send to a bus. Such as bus 8. You then need to adjust the volume on the send and panning etc and also put it on Pre-fade. If its on post fade, then there is no signal on the "dry" track. Then on the new stereo track with the reverb effect, in the input you choose bus 8. Hope that made sense...
Perhaps there is another way of doing this. Possibly a better way.... |
