You will. You can get various m-audio soundcards, or the digidesign ones, such as an Mbox2, or Digi 002 etc.

Check out these links;

ALSO - i would hang fire on getting PT, as proo tools 7 is coming out very soon - http://www.digidesign.com/news/details.cfm?story_id=3734&localonly=N

Keep in mind though man you can get other programs thats are as good as protools if you can't afford a new soundcard. Some other good ones are Cool Edit and Cubase. Cubase is as good byfar and easyer to get plug-ins for.

Yeah man i got Adobe Audition 1.5 and Cubase, I have Wavelab to plug into Cubase. Good advise dawg, I think maybe my soundcard is making clicks on the programs, I heard Protools Gives you REALLY crisp and clear sound, And i am always looking to get better sound....... I am looking at the Whole protools package."New, Factory Bundle, With Plug Ins and AT2020 Mic" "Digidesign MBox Audio Interface".

I understand what you are talk'n about. I myself am a protools user, but I not only got it cuz I work with a boat load af aritis that record with it but I also thought it would sound better. I also have a Tascam US-428 and must say it sounds just as good. And it works wounders in cubase and cool edit. You may wanna get a new soundcard for the clicks but also I would see if its your mic. But ProTools is a very nice program also. Top of the line and lot of people use it in pro studios. Since I now record with the M-box I will tell you, its nice and I can take it places on the go. Isn't a bad soundcard at all. Oh and 2 reason why it would be nice to have is 1.) You own the software don't have to worry about pirated program(s). Also this is one think I can't stress enough, ProTools plug-ins are not made to run 5 on each track (unless your pc is raw!) it will run your CPU up that way. It was made for high quality plug-ins. So with that I would run it on 1 gb of ram to help that out.
