Assignment 1 Peer Assessment

Yellow Group

Punk - A Progressive Account

Seriously comprehensive. Well structured and very well thought out with good use and appropriate sound files. PowerPoint was used in an informative and attractive way. Not rushed in preparation. Very clear to see that the presenter knew what he was talking about. There was a good use of audio and visual media. Wasn't clear what the contribution of the other members of the group was. We were all impressed by John.

Green Group

The Bromley Contingent

We felt that this group was the least organized. They didn't seem to know what they were talking about. The presenter had clearly never seen the presentation before. e.g not knowing the information before it came up on the slide. The use of pre recorded material was interesting but not relevant. It wasn't a fluent presentation as a whole. We never got the feeling that this group worked as a team.

Red Group

Hegemony in Music

Unclear who the Red Group were and their contribution. However, all other aspects of the presentation were good. Clear and concise information. We very much liked the end clip. The audio and visual linked very well and was very memorable, a sign that it got the desired effect. It was well explained and related to the concept of Hegemony. If it wasn't for the closing clip the presentation would have been very standard.

Orange Group

US and UK- The Cultural Transatlantic Bond, Rock n Roll to present day.

Most original idea. From the beginning we worked well as a team from developing ideas to the final presentation. We lost a team member - recorder, but we just split his role to make up for it. We put in a lot of hours and hope this came across in our final work. We gave up a lot of information, which was time we could have spent on visuals; we had to compromise as a group. But overall we think it went well.

Due to the lack of a recorder we all worked as a group to finish this evaluation.
