Although Sound Engineering is seen as a 'hands on', practical job, there are many benefits to be gained from studying for a qualification in the subject.
Nice words there Ben!
It is true, especially in the audio world today! Maybe 50 years back, audio education wasn't necessary, but now especially after the digital revolution there is a lot more to be understood about audio. And this kind of information can be easily understood at an audio school. It does make a difference if you have someone explain things to you than reading and trying to understand say the Nyquist theory yourself!
And the audience today is more aware about sound that ever before, so the demand for trained professionals is very much needed.
