If I'm not mistaken, around a year back I'd read this article in the 'News' section giving tips about creating a resume.. I can't seem to find it...
And anyways, I've brought this topic up, so why not see what people have to say? Even though we are audio engineers and are different from the normal 9-5 lot, we still have to go through the formal procedures of applying for a job (at least usually, especially if you are starting out). Any experiences to share here? |

Im at the stage where i have finished my college course and now am on the difficult task of finding work music related. I thought i would kind of expand the original post here. This is aimed at the ones that are already workign with the music industry.
How did you get your first job, music related?
Secondly, do you have any tips on how to get jobs in studios? What is the best way to approach studios? What about a portfolio? How many tracks on a CD? SHould a detailed write up of the tracks be included, or simplified? Would it be the same principle as if you where approaching a record label?
i ask these questions, because I really want to work in a recording studio. I dont mind not getting paid to begin with, I just want to get in there, and get some experience that could aid me to get a job.
Hope someone replies!
