Hola,
One thing I can say is Tommy "Truely" know's his stuff about that Marcus Bass! I've contacted him many times with question's about the Bass, Preamp mods, and basic stuff, alway's with great and helpful info. Read his various post on Harmony Central pertaining to the Marcus. Thank's for all your knowledge, "The smartest guy I Know"!!!
Peace,

ben m,
Do you know if Fender Japan has incorporated your modifications into their production of the MM4? That battery drain problem sounds like a design flaw.
Your article was very informative. I am thinking about getting a MM4.
Thanks,

Hi BSDGuy,
not to the best of my knowledge although I can't confirm this - probably best to email Fender to get it straight from the horses mouth.
The problem can be easily rectified as shown in Tommys article, and if you don't fancy doing it a guitar tech wouldn't charge you very much to make the modification.
It is a great bass for the money, very good for slap with the active circuitry on and obviously a more traditional jazz tone when in passive mode.
At the moment I'm getting some almost precision like tones out of it in conjunction with my Ashdown ABM.
cheers,
